Continuing Education is here for you Additionally, if your business needs
to provide
professional training and development to employees, we can work with you
to
design a course or program that meets your needs through our customized
training programs.
Continuing Education expands the University's educational offerings beyond
the academic
college curriculum. Our programs focus on lifelong learning by including
non-credit courses,
in-house training, seminars, workshops and conferences for professional
development
and personal enrichment. Our goal is to meet the educational needs of our
community by
offering a diverse selection of programs that will be both interesting
and challenging.
There are no prerequisites, admissions procedures, final exams or degree
requirements in
Continuing Education non-credit courses. Just call us to register and bring
your desire to learn!
A Variety of Program Locations
Programs are held in a number of locations, depending on
community need. Examples of some of our training sites include:
Flexible Program Schedules
Continuing Education also offers programs at times and days
that are convenient to you. Weekend seminars, evening classes,
and daytime business training are just some of the accommodations
we make.
Instructors are Experienced Professionals
Instructors are industry professionals, subject matter experts or WSU
academic
faculty who are chosen for their experience in the field and their proven
effectiveness in teaching.
Credit, Continuing Education Unit, and Clock Hour Options
In addition to non-credit programs, many courses can be taken
for WSU credit, Continuing Education Units (CEUs), or clock hours
which are nationally recognized units of achievement used as
evidence of professional development. See the individual course
descriptions for information about availability of WSU credit,
CEUs, or clock hours.
How Courses and Programs are Selected
Continuing Education strives to respond to community need.
Businesses, public agencies, and private citizens are surveyed
for their educational needs on an ongoing basis. Individuals are
encouraged to call or write Continuing Education with suggestions
about existing or needed programs.
Directions to Campus
From I-5 or I-205, take the 134th Street exit (marked WSU Vancouver).
Turn east off
the exit onto 134th Street. Follow 134th Street for approximately two miles.
Turn left
into the WSU Vancouver driveway. Park in the second (red) lot.
Parking
Parking fees are enforced Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
During these
hours, park in the RED lot only. Cost is
$1.00 per day payable via honor boxes
located in the red lot.
